General Information for Residents
GARBAGE SERVICE: The Village of Oak Harbor is contracted with Republic Services. Residents should contact them directly to set up service, answer billing questions, etc. The "blue" garbage bags can be purchased at the Utility Billing Office during business hours. Republic Services can be reached at calling 1-800-234-3429.
US POST OFFICE: The post office is located at 126 N. Church Street. (419) 898-4501
VILLAGE COUNCIL: Meets the 1st & 3rd Mondays of the month at the municipal building located at 146 N. Church Street at 7:00 P.M. If the meeting falls on a holiday, the meeting is held on Tuesday.
UTILITIES: The Utility Billing Office is located at 146 N. Church Street in the Municipal Building. Office hours
are 8:30 A.M. – 4:30 P.M. Payments can be made by maildrop box and drive-thru. To report a power outage call
(419) 898-3881 weekdays 7:30 A.M. – 4:00 P.M. To report a water or sewer problem, call (419) 898-1823.
If after hours, call the Oak Harbor Police Department at (419) 898-2055.
INCOME TAX: The Village income tax rate is 1%. The filing deadline is April 15th. The Regional Income Tax Authority (RITA) collects municipal income for the Village of Oak Harbor. BRUSH: Brush pickup is the 3rd Monday of each month. Brush must be curbside by 7:00 A.M. the Monday of pickup.
Failure to do so will result in the brush not being picked up until the following month. Contact the Department of

ZONING: Zoning permits are required for a variety of situations, including but not limited to new homes, additions,
signs, fences and swimming pools. Contact the Village Administrator's office for details at

SHELTER HOUSE: A shelter house can be reserved by contacting the Oak Harbor Police Department at
(419) 898-2055. Donations are accepted.
CHRISTMAS TREES: Curbside pickup during the month of January.
