FRED CONLEY
MAYOR
Fred Conley was born in Maysville, Kentucky and raised near Graytown, Ohio. He is 1967 graduate of Harris-Elmore High School and attended Davis Business College in Toledo, Ohio. From 1967 to 1970, he served in the United States Marine Corps, seeing active duty in Vietnam. In 1978, he and his family moved from Toledo to his wife Elaine’s hometown of Oak Harbor. Their family includes four children –Erin, Amanda, Caitlin and Matthew and six grandchildren.
Mayor Conley is employed as maintenance technician at the National Bank of Oak Harbor. He served Oak Harbor as councilman for 18 years before being elected mayor in 2007. Other service to the community has included president of the Oak Harbor Area Chamber of Commerce, member of the July 4th Celebration Committee, Apple Festival Committee, Downtown Development Committee and board member of Mid-County EMS and the Benton-Carroll-Salem Board of Education.
Mayor Conley is also past commander and life member of VFW Post 8732, member of John A. Fader Post 114 of the American Legion and serves in lay ministry of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Oak Harbor.
Mayor Conley serves on the Planning Commission and Records Retention Committee.
